An Idyllic Location
St.John’s School enjoys a truly unique location, occupying an extensive and historic site which overlooks the Regency town of Sidmouth and the World famous ´Jurassic Coast’ beyond.

Sidmouth is one of Devon’s most prestigious coastal towns and its visitors come to enjoy the sunny beaches, dramatic red cliffed coastline and local countryside which has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This sheltered part of Lyme Bay also attracts surfers, kayakers and sailing enthusiasts in large numbers.
The wide-open spaces of Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach and are regularly used by students particularly for boarders’ weekend excursions. The historic towns of Exeter and Plymouth contain museums and leisure facilities to add to the pupils’ enjoyment and learning experiences. Living as we do in an environment that has the advantage of a beautiful coastline, grand sweeps of wild moor land and a profusion of charming villages and hamlets and rolling countryside, it is small wonder that our students develop a greater understanding and appreciation for the essential values of life.
In addition, St.John’s is only twelve miles from the Cathedral city of Exeter and M5 motorway with excellent rail and road communications to Bristol and beyond. In addition, the rapidly expanding Exeter Airport is less than twenty minutes drive and quickly links St.John’s to many other British and International towns and cities.
