Some boarders prefer to take up the option of Homestay, where out of school hours, the pupil will stay with a family in the local area.
For those who choose Homestay, they will leave school at the end of the normal school day, along with all other day pupils. However, if they wish, they can come back in at the weekend and join in the organised boarding activities and excursions once this has been agreed with their Homestay family.
All homes are inspected by St John’s and Devon County Council, while families are DBS vetted and receive a Safeguarding induction. There is regular contact between Home, Host family and school.
